Rammstein Recording New Album

Yesterday, Rammstein entered the studio once again to record their next album. This industrial metal powerhouse from Germany released this message on their website:

"Now that the band has finished pre-production in Berlin for its new album, Operation "Album 6" is going forward full steam ahead. Christoph Schneider arrived in Los Angeles last week to meet with Jacob Hellner and production team (i.e., currently Ulf Kruckenberg and Florian Ammon) to undertake preparations for recording of all the drum tracks.

"Also to arrive in L.A. this week for the drum sessions, Paul and Richard. Finally, a studio has been rented near San Francisco for the bulk of the main recording work, and the band will go into retreat there for several weeks starting on November 9th, 2008. Clear the decks, the Rammstein tanker is once again under steam!"

If you have never heard of Rammstein before and would like to try out some of their music, I would suggest the single "Du Hast" or anything from the album "Mutter."

Youtube of the Week: Vol.1, Episode 4

From a series of dubbed videos comes my personal favorite of the series. This video is of the guitarist of Dream Theater, John Petrucci. The overdubs are hilarious. If you want to find more videos from the series, search for "John Petrucci Psycho Exercises." Now lets just hope that John Petrucci doesn't kill any more innocent lives with his uber fast playing and pedalboard of death while working on the band's 10th studio album.
Enjoy!

The Beatles Get a Video Game

The news is in and the beatles are going to be featured in their own game! The game will be produced by Harmonix, the creators of Rock Band. The game will not be titled Rock Band: The Beatles, although it will work with all of your Rock Band peripherals. A keyboard may even be introduced into the game. The game will feature sampling of music and imagery from throughout the band's career, from "Please Please Me" (1963) through "Let It Be" (1970). This game should help expose the generation to The Beatles, just like Guitar Hero: Aerosmith did, and Guitar Hero: Metallica will help do.
There are no official dates for the release as of yet, but the developers are saying that it should be ready by the 2009 holiday season.

David Tennant to Leave Doctor Who

After four years of fighting Cybermen, Daleks, Centaurans, the Devil, and many things supernatural and alien, David Tennant will retire his roll as the time lord on the popular BBC sci-fi show, "Doctor Who". (You may have known him as Barty Crouch Jr. from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire also) He announced this live at the National Television Awards. He said he will leave at the end of the production of the 2009 specials.

In a BBC news article, Tennant states that "I've had the most brilliant, bewildering and life changing time working on Doctor Who. I have loved every day of it,It would be very easy to cling on to the TARDIS console forever and I fear that if I don't take a deep breath and make the decision to move on now, then I simply never will. ... I'm still the Doctor all next year but when the time finally comes I'll be honoured to hand on the best job in the world to the next lucky git - whoever that may be." Tennant added that he "always thought the time to leave would be in conjunction with Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner who have been such a huge part of it all for me. Steven Moffat is the most brilliant and exciting writer, the only possible successor to Russell and it was sorely tempting to be part of his amazing new plans for the show. I will be there, glued to my TV when his stories begin in 2010." He furthermore says that he feels "very privileged to have been part of this incredible phenomenon, and whilst I'm looking forward to new challenges I know I'll always be very proud to be the Tenth Doctor."

This is some pretty sad news to many, but we still have 5 more hours of Doctor Who with David Tennant as our beloved time lord. One a good note, Russel T. Davies says that they are planning "the most enormous and spectacular ending." Which should be expected for this great time lord.

I wish Tennant my luck in all the other things in which he has worked, and i would like to thank him for giving us one of the most amusing time lords in Doctor Who history. David Tennant, you will be missed.

Slipknot Releases a New Music Video

Two days ago on October 25th, Slipknot released the video for "Dead Memories", one of the more mellow songs on their new album "All Hope is Gone." There have been mixed feelings about this video, but overall, the concept and video itself are pretty good. The video is not as good as other videos such as "Psychosocial" or "Left Behind", but is a great addition to Slipknot's arsenal. It has some great scenes where Corey Taylor a.k.a 8, the lead singer, encounters different band members. The best/most epic of those are probably when he meets with Seven a.k.a. Mick Thomson and Paul Gray a.k.a. 2.
Enjoy the video.

Youtube Video of the Week: Vol.1, Episode 2/3

We have a bonus in this week's youtube video of the week. Our first video gives us another reason to not mess around with William Shatner. This clip is taken from the ABC show "Boston Legal." When I saw this for the first time I nearly died laughing.

Our second video is a take on my favorite System of a Down song, sugar. This video is entirely in lego stop animation. It is quite an odditie, but is amusing.
