David Tennant to Leave Doctor Who

After four years of fighting Cybermen, Daleks, Centaurans, the Devil, and many things supernatural and alien, David Tennant will retire his roll as the time lord on the popular BBC sci-fi show, "Doctor Who". (You may have known him as Barty Crouch Jr. from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire also) He announced this live at the National Television Awards. He said he will leave at the end of the production of the 2009 specials.

In a BBC news article, Tennant states that "I've had the most brilliant, bewildering and life changing time working on Doctor Who. I have loved every day of it,It would be very easy to cling on to the TARDIS console forever and I fear that if I don't take a deep breath and make the decision to move on now, then I simply never will. ... I'm still the Doctor all next year but when the time finally comes I'll be honoured to hand on the best job in the world to the next lucky git - whoever that may be." Tennant added that he "always thought the time to leave would be in conjunction with Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner who have been such a huge part of it all for me. Steven Moffat is the most brilliant and exciting writer, the only possible successor to Russell and it was sorely tempting to be part of his amazing new plans for the show. I will be there, glued to my TV when his stories begin in 2010." He furthermore says that he feels "very privileged to have been part of this incredible phenomenon, and whilst I'm looking forward to new challenges I know I'll always be very proud to be the Tenth Doctor."

This is some pretty sad news to many, but we still have 5 more hours of Doctor Who with David Tennant as our beloved time lord. One a good note, Russel T. Davies says that they are planning "the most enormous and spectacular ending." Which should be expected for this great time lord.

I wish Tennant my luck in all the other things in which he has worked, and i would like to thank him for giving us one of the most amusing time lords in Doctor Who history. David Tennant, you will be missed.

Slipknot Releases a New Music Video

Two days ago on October 25th, Slipknot released the video for "Dead Memories", one of the more mellow songs on their new album "All Hope is Gone." There have been mixed feelings about this video, but overall, the concept and video itself are pretty good. The video is not as good as other videos such as "Psychosocial" or "Left Behind", but is a great addition to Slipknot's arsenal. It has some great scenes where Corey Taylor a.k.a 8, the lead singer, encounters different band members. The best/most epic of those are probably when he meets with Seven a.k.a. Mick Thomson and Paul Gray a.k.a. 2.
Enjoy the video.

Youtube Video of the Week: Vol.1, Episode 2/3

We have a bonus in this week's youtube video of the week. Our first video gives us another reason to not mess around with William Shatner. This clip is taken from the ABC show "Boston Legal." When I saw this for the first time I nearly died laughing.

Our second video is a take on my favorite System of a Down song, sugar. This video is entirely in lego stop animation. It is quite an odditie, but is amusing.

Rock Band and Guitar Hero: Have they gone too far?

We all know and love these games, even though you look like a dork rocking out on a plastic "guitar." Now you can look like even more of a tool! Just recently, the guys down at EA Games released the merch store which allows Rock Band users to make posters, t-shirts, pins, and even action figures of their Rock Band band. WTF!!! Your band isn't even real, but you are spending real money to get merchandise that you will feel too embarrassed to wear in the future. The only thing that seems awesome to buy would be an action figure, but still that would put you back $60 or $70. Another thing that is getting on my nerves are those guitar controlles made of real wood and built to scale and design specs of a real guitar. JUST BUY A REAL GUITAR AND LEARN HOW TO PLAY!! Finally, although it is bringing kids these day into good music that isn't rap, kids are starting to think that guitar hero is so much harder than real guitar. These kids dont even have a clue. They think that beating Through the Fire and Flames will make them cool. I laugh at all those who think that. All that that does is make you look like an even bigger nerd.
So to sum this all up. Play Guitar Hero or Rock Band for fun, don't be a nerd and don't take it seriously. That is what I do. There is one thing I do thank guitar hero for. That is introducing me to such great music and convincing me to pick up the real guitar.

Japanese Game Shows: insanity or just plain awesome?

Japanese game shows are among the crazy things that we humans do. A number of you may have heard of that show "Ninja Warrior" that appears on G4 TV, that is just the beginning. IF you search the bowls of youtube, you can find some pretty hilarious clips from these Japanese game shows. We Americans have tried to replicate these shows, but lets face it, WE FAIL!!!!
The first clip is from a game show in which people must go through a wall that is moving towards them while in a position stated on the wall. The second clip is from a show called "Rock Fujiyama." In this clip, guitarists Paul Gilbert and Marty Friedman go head to head in a guitar riff duel.

Too bad American TV isn't as entertaining as this. Japanese game shows get a heaping helping of win!
